Janet McGraw
Director of Christian Education - Retired
I have been married to my college sweetheart, Dean, for 46 years. Dean and I gravitated to Southwest Virginia after college and have lived in Abingdon for the past 37 years. Having a degree in Education, I taught school prior to Dean and I having 3 wonderful children and we now have 6 grandchildren. I’ve always said that being a stay-at-home mom was my best job. Being a grandma is second best! In 1996 I accepted the Director of Christian Education position at Sinking Spring and worked for twenty-three years at my dream job outside my home before retiring. I spent three years gardening, crafting, sewing, and enjoying life before being rehired again as the Director of Christian Education in September 2021, and I love being back.

Corann Kitchen
I was born in Georgia, married, and spent 33 years in the western US, living in multiple states. My husband was a University President, and I raised two wonderful children, worked on many community projects, and did a lot of entertaining. I returned to Georgia and worked in various positions for a Retirement Community for 6 years. I remarried in 2004, and I again moved around the US. We moved to Abingdon in 2008 and loved the beautiful community. Walt’s Job ended in 2010, and we returned to GA. In 2014, we found land, returned, built our home, and became an active part of the community. I have been President of the Abingdon Garden Club for two years and have just left the position of President of the Washington County Master Gardeners for 4 years. I am also an artist and love to paint. I am a member of the Arts Depot and the Holston Mountain Artisans. Thus, my love for art, gardening, and cooking. We have been active Sinking Springs Presbyterian Church members, working with the Congregations Care Committee and the Session and Landscape Committee and singing in the choir.
